| Woman Killed When Motorcycle Hits Cow Even if you know the road you don't know what might be around the next corner.
KNOX COUNTY — One person was killed and a second injured in a motorcycle crash at 10:14 p.m., Wednesday on Ohio 95 in Wayne Township. Quote:
The 2003 Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycle was driven by Kevin L. Schirtzinger, 47, Marengo. The passenger, Andrea D. Gladman, 26, Cardington, was killed.
The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the motorcycle was westbound on Ohio 95 when it struck a Black Angus heifer crossing the road. The motorcycle overturned ejecting both occupants.
Both Schirtzinger and Gladman were flown by medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center. Gladman did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Schirtzinger was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesman.
Neither victim was wearing a helmet.
The crash is still under investigation. The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Fredericktown Fire Department and Fredericktown Police Department.
It is not known how the animal got to be in the road.
“The fence was up in good condition. We don’t know how it got out,” said Trooper Todd Carpenter.
He said the heifer was injured, but still alive after the accident. |

'Dont get complacent just because you know the road, as one day there may be something stopped round the next bend' .. and guess what.. he was right.. one day on my way home I was taking a lovely sweeping left hander, normally taken at about 50-60mph, which tightened up as you went round it and there was a car pulling away from the verge, doing no speed at all.. I managed to slow my bike down without coming off as the car picked up speed and made it home safely.. |

| Re: Woman Killed When Motorcycle Hits Cow If you watch the news at this time of year there are just so many motorcycle crashes, and the age bracket is more often than not the plus 35 age group. Disposable cash and a bit of mid life crisis, maybe the skills have faded or were never there to start with, they get on the new 600's and 1000's and get hurt. You have to think 2 steps ahead on the street.

| and then we had this yesterday at Brands Hatch.. Quote:
CRAIG JONES passed away at 00:32 on Monday, August 4th following his crash in the World Supersport race at Brands Hatch yesterday.
The 23-year-old succumbed to severe head injuries sustained as he fell from his Parkalgar Honda motorcycle at Clark Curve in the final third of the race.
Jones appeared to lose control of his Honda mid-way through the corner, as he fell from the bike he was clipped by Andrew Pitt on his Ten Kate Hannspree Honda who was just inches away as the pair battled for the lead with Jonathan Rea, the Aussie unable to avoid Jones during the fall.
Craig, 23, from Peterborough, originally from Northwich, was one of Britain's brightest hopes in World Championship motorcycle racing. In his career he won the 1996 British Junior Mini-Moto Championship, the 1997 British Senior Mini-Moto Championship, 2002 British Junior Superstock Championship and numerous race victories and awards. In 2005 he finished runner-up in the British Supersport Championship before moving to the World Superbike Championship for 2006. In 2007 he finished fifth in the World Supersport Championship. In 2008 he was a regular podium finisher and contender for race wins and amongst the favourites for the Championship title.
