| Re: A good advert for ATGATT I bet she wasn't so pretty after...
Found this picture whilst on the net, you may say its hasn't got anything to do with it but it works on the same principle... You dress for the fall, not for the ride...

| Re: A good advert for ATGATT Sounds like she was too worried about the guy in control of the throttle... And then maybe a sudden gust took her off. We've all noticed how quickly the wind changes direction when riding above 100mph.
"I noticed that I had to start fighting the wind to stay behind Shaun without pulling on him too much. I placed my hands on the gas tank and pushed myself into him as much as possible without crowding him."
Pulling too much or crowding isn't something a passenger should have to consider... Hands on the gas tank only under braking, hands wrapped around the driver at all other times.... Right? If he was feeling like she was going to pull him off, he would have pulled the clutch I'm sure.
Same goes for PWCs... YOU CAN'T get me off the back of a PWC without you coming with me or the whole thing turning over. I am always shocked by how many people simply go flying off the back of a PWC in a hard turn. Do they have no self-preservation? It's easier to hold a person than handlebars IMO.
Kudos to her for telling her story..... Hopefully she saves just one person from the same horrible experience. And the original poster's pic too... It shouldn't take seeing pictures to make it real, but it does. |

| Re: A good advert for ATGATT Wow! I teared up and got a deep twang in the pit of my stomach.
I nearly had a friend fall off my bike one day screwing around. He didn't have a really good grip, unbeknown-est to me, so when I cranked on the throttle he rotated back and his feet came up under my arm pits. I immediately hit the brakes and he came back up to the riding position. Very scary.
I too am in awe of her ability to conquer her fears and not only ride on a bike, but rider her own bike. |

| Re: A good advert for ATGATT Just read that story (made me feel quite ill if I'm honest)... no matter how stupid she was for getting on the bike in the 1st place, you wouldn't wish that on anyone. All credit to her for getting through the worst of it and getting back on a bike
What really gets me is the rider
Firstly, how much of an @$$hole do you need to be to let someone ride pillion wearing a bikini & sweatshirt?
Secondly, if that's not enough, to then ride like a total to$$er, fast enough for wind-blast to pull her off the back That's got to be well over 100mph??
The girl was stupid for getting on the bike dressed like that, no doubt, but the rider willingly took her life in his hands and treated her with complete and utter disregard, and as a result nearly killed her. She's disfigured for life as a direct result of his actions.
Sorry for the bad language, the rider aspect of this story clearly riled me! |
