| 2008 past away at only 4 months Yep, it was just 4 months old before getting cut off and into a head on with another car. luckily that other car happened to be stopped. I hit it at about 35 straight on, and only had about one second on the brakes. flipped and 180'd over the car to land on my feet and hands like spiderman. Seriously. this is what happened. so you think no injuries, but the tank got my "boys" so good I have had a black grapefruit between my legs, and will be there for about a month the doc. says. other than that, no injuries. everything is okay I guess as the doc said elevate it, and keep it iced.
So, the worst part is I know the bike is going to be totaled, but the tow company seemed to have fun with my steed and do burnouts on the rear tire and it is completely bald now. as they did this with no oil in the motor (I saw the big puddle under the bike after I crashed) they could have caused some major damage to the motor. I was going to buy it back to keep it as a fun project and put the motor into a go cart, but now dont know if I should.
My replacement bike... Same color, same model. full two bros. exhaust, all the fun goodies being put back onto it as we speak. just sucks that I wont be able to ride even though I have the new bike. |

| Re: 2008 past away at only 4 months Ouch I know your pain had "my boys" sucked into a rear bicycle tire on a failed manual/wheelie. Mine looked more like a giant peach seed though because of the wrinkles
Glad to hear your ok and good luck with the new ride.

| Re: 2008 past away at only 4 months Ya. workin on buying it back. I have to go in for surgery in about two more weeks, then another two weeks to heal from that.
The tow company gave me a check as they had a video of their employees on the bike doing burnouts and over revving it. 800 bucks and the relief that they are standing in the unemployment line!
My insurance still totaled it though. The back half is good still, and the right side. front rim bent in, fork bent, front fascia and headlights and stuff all smooshed and broken, left clip-on bent, etc.
As soon as I have it in hand, I'll get better specifics as to whats still good. Hopefully before I go back to the doc. |

| Re: 2008 past away at only 4 months Oh man, sorry to hear that, I'm squirming in my seat reading your story after my own "crush" experience about a week back. Mine was minor (just heavy braking) but painfull as always.

| Re: 2008 past away at only 4 months I saw an r1 outside my local dealer here once ,with the part of the tank where "your boys" usually are ;split ,pushed in and re-welded back together very badly. It looked awful and when the guy came out i had to ask him why he had done it ,and yes his answer was about "his boys"... and how he got bad tank slappers....if you ask me a good steering damper would've sorted it...what a di{k ,no pun intended...anyway glad to hear you're all ok. |
