I got into an accident on the freeway today

Hello friend,
I got into an accident on the freeway today. I was traveling in the right hand side of the carpool lane when a small truck tried to get out of the carpool lane illegally by crossing the double yellow line and blocked my way of traffic. I lay down the bike to my left hand side to avoid hitting him straight on. Luckily, the bike did not get totally destroyed. The major damage was to my front and left fairing, Satos left mid pipe and cans, gear shifter and a bunch of other stuff. I think I was lucky, it could have been worse. My helmet and my shoulder/chest absorbed the impact when I hit the cement. I was wondering if the other guy’s insurance will pay for my ruined protective gear (helmet, jacket, gloves and pants).
I will be taking some day off from work to recuperate from my body aches.

sorry to hear this man, what was the legal outcome of the situation, being that he crossed the double yellows.
the good thing is that you are ok.

WOW!!! Thats my greatest fear of being on my bike. I'm not worried about my driving i'm worried about other idiots on the road. I'm glad you'r ok i'm sure his insurance should pay for that also since it was his fault. But then again it depends how the police statement was taken.

Hello bud,

My bike is also an 05 rc51. It has only 3021 miles. I hope that the cost to repair is not way over board. The guy that hit me looks very young. I hope he has good insurance to cover for the damage.

Surely if someone hits you and have obviously broken the law (which as you have found out, are there for a reason) that you should of called the police??

This would also of proven your innocence and the other party's guilt when filing with the insurers. They would of backed you for your claim.

But at the end of it all, You're ok and thats the main thing

Friend, You are correct! a california highway patrol report was taken. Also,
two witnesses statements where included in the report. The guy that force to crash my bike was directly at fault. He crossed the double yellow line to get out from the carpool lane. I have taken 3 days of from work due to injuries. I might even take the whole week tomorrow. I can hardly wait for the report that is due on This Thursday. I will contact the chp to see if the report is ready.

Take good care,
George
