But on our side of the river we don't drive horses and bicycles either ;-)
I've seen various people talking about driving their motorcycles and I just figured it was slang like fighter pilots calling themselves drivers instead of pilots.
I generally refer to riders and drivers as pilots myself but I don't recall where I picked it up from.

Re: Tire Change Error

I work for a very reputable auto dealer in my area who spends a **** load on "correctly calibrated equip." and then a **** load more to maintain that equip. On top of that we have some great techs but at the end of the day we are all human and make mistakes; thats why we test "drive" our vehicles before releasing them to a customer.

Thats what the "correctly" calibrated equip is for, to take out the possibility of human mistakes!!!

No it's not. It's to allow less skilled operators to do the job.
It also takes away expertise and experience so the less skilled operator fails to recognise when the machine hasn't done the job correctly.
Personally, if I work on somebody else's bike I ride it before them to ensure I haven't done anything wrong. Having said that though I generally avoid working on or riding other people's bikes since I have more than enough of my own to keep me busy :-)

Re: Tire Change Error

No offense taken, its just that exactly how much riding experience has that lad in the garage had riding powerfull bikes???

For someone such as Bladeracer he is more than capable with his experince.

And yes I agree with the point about the "less experienced operator", but....that being the case these operators should have more training, to spot any mistakes the machines have made.

As our lives are in "both" their hands..

Lot too be said for working on ya bike yourself.

Yeah i am going to take blades advice and learn how to use a "spanner" sorry blade i think its a cool word. Just like after being in the middle east for 13 months i find myself still saying "im going to the LOO" instead of restroom. Until now i have been extremely busy with work and had no time to sling a wrench. Now i have a little more free time im going to learn

Re: Tire Change Error

So 2 months now and im finally getting the bike back this week (fingers crossed). Had to wait for new plastics to come in. So they fixed everything that they damaged plus made a couple changes for me to keep me happy and coming back. Here is a before pic and a couple pics of the damage done. I will post pics up when i get it back so that you can see the "changes". Like myself im sure you all will be surprised to see.

Re: Tire Change Error

yeah i had them put there shop stickers on as well to get their name out there since they are a small shop. Like i said earlier in the thread they will get ALL my business as their prices are better than i can find on the net as well as i know what they will do to make a problem right. Whatever it takes. I dont know if you could see in the pics but there is also a brand new 2 bros Carbon exhaust they put on as well. Going in 2 weeks to have them do new chain and sprockets -1 +2, as well as a pc3 usb and ill order a damper as well and do that one myself.

Well done to the shop . It's hard to find work shops you can trust, and this one sounds like it's up there. By the way the bike looks fantastic slinky. I was toying with the idea of turning mine into a Repsol but I don't want to repaint my tank and polished wheels. But i'm searching all the time for the bit's i need, so I'll get there on day. Enjoy the Repsol mate .

Thanks bro even the wife was speechless when i brought it home today. Knowing how people handle their selves in difficult and odd situations is a glance at the character of that individual. These guys shined when they could have said eff off. Thats why i go back thats why my buddy buys his parts there and thats why i added their sticker kit to the bike. Anyone in the area Orange county riverside county LA county california want great prices and people you can rely on not looking to rip you off hit me up ill get you the info. Thanks to all memebers here whos insight afforded me the thought to pull this change off all for $45.00

Re: Tire Change Error

The shop was right to replace any parts broken and repair the bike as it was their fault in the first place.

Glad you got the bike back - were them scratches on the frame before you took it in there (I think I see some near the plate)... Also, your clutch lever looks grazed.

The bike looks overall in good condition, I would personally check to make sure everything has been done properly. Never trust anyone else with your pride and joy again.

Yeah the marks next to the plate are from previous owner tipping it in the garage and it sliding down the wall. Just sanded it and never painted it. Waiting on new levers they had ordered the wrong ones and i didnt wanna wait any longer

Re: Tire Change Error

I'm glad your riding again yet I'm still not happy with what they did.

In the first place it should not have happened, although I do respect them for replacing the damaged parts... Did they compensate you for the time and effort wasted by them?

Was the person who dropped the bike reprimanded? It sounds harsh but they should have known better. New tyres need to be "bedded" in and the damage on the bike looks quite substantial.

Did they compensate you for the time and effort wasted by them?

Was the person who dropped the bike reprimanded?

Yes they did thats why i received the 2 bros exhaust. They were going to rent me a car but instead i borrowed a company vehicle and did the exhaust instead.

Not really as it was the owner that did it lol

Re: Tire Change Error

I did notice that - wasn't sure if you had bought it... Is it a full system or just a end can?

Do you still have the stock parts? They may come in handy or could fund for a PC3 or other mods.

Well he should know better. Thats all really I can say.
