| Re: Tire Change Error Has the frame been given a salvage write off title?
I doubt it as you didn't go through insurance but just in case.
Did they make you sign any documents?

Did they make you sign any documents? | Negative and negative. No salvage title and didnt sign anything other that work order for original tire change. Well unless you count the 50 i spend to have frame checked i signed that WO as well. But to the best of my knowledge everything is good. Already put about 800+ miles on it since i got it back and no issues rides great |

Thats what the "correctly" calibrated equip is for, to take out the possibility of human mistakes!!! | True but this is tires I test everything that I do but I put tires on and hit the track with them all the time.

| Re: Tire Change Error Honestly, let the guy enjoy his bike. You would notice when riding it if the frame was tweaked even a little, believe me. You'd feel it if even the subframe was damaged. I'm sure you put some miles on that sweet ride, and i'f your like me, you notice every little difference.
So, don't let these guys get you worried about your bike. Only 1 recommendation here, get a set of nice front flush mount blinkers!! and send some pics of them once you get em on. Besides that, maybe save up for some performance mods and enjoy it even more!!
Have fun !!!! |

Therefore this guy is an IDIOT! If it was a decent dealership then they should definately know better! The dealership is 100% liable and I would be totally pissed!!!!!! |

It wasn't a stealership as i so hear them affectionately called on here. Its just a little bike shop ran by a couple of guys trying to combat big business. Which is why their prices are so cheap and i went there in the first place. They are a couple of riders turned shop owners trying to provide a break to people who A) cant afford to go to the dealership and pay 115 for a tire change
B) are tired of paying 100 dollars and hour and have your repairs drug out.
Was i upset yeah it sucked. Accidents happen though. Could have been me and i would still be bikeless trying to buy new parts. They did what they could to make everything right and i think they did a great job at it. I have since been back and so has a buddy of mine. So i have no hard/ill feelings. It happens.

It happens. | Your right "it sucks and **** happens". The bike looks alot better now than it originally did, I guess thats a bit of a trade off. I hear stories like this all the time and its frustrating that everytime someone takes there bike in to get repaired you always have that fear of them damaging the bike by either test riding it or scratching the rims etc. Thats why I change my own tires and fix my own bike. I guess that fear has made me a more knowledgeable bike owner. Even though mistakes happen it looks like they did a great job at repairing the bike. I bet that mistake was a costly one for them and I am sure that it will never happen again as most people tend to learn from their mistakes, especially costly ones!
Take care, the bike looks great! |

| Re: Tire Change Error Life sucks. Sorry man. feel your pain. Don't take it lying down. Insist on taking your baby to the best and most expensive bike repair shop you can find. Don't let them fix it. They will ruin it even further. Report it to the cops. there was no need for him to test ride your baby. |

| Re: Tire Change Error If i went to a shop and had work done to it, like tires or chain, I would hope they WOULD test drive the bike to insure that the repair was done correct. When chanaging tires, the tire balancer should get the tires balanced, and that should be spot on. However, what about the axle bolts or chain tension/aduster? If not tighted, this will be checked and corrected after the road test. Summing up, I think if you have a shop work on your bike with drivabily repairs, then the bike should be road tested so this same situation doesnt happen to you when leaving the lot.
Bike looks good and I am glad they fixed it to your satisfaction with no real hassle. Enjoy it! |

| Re: Tire Change Error Fair play to them, looks real nice. Make sure you tell everyone just how good they have been, they need the extra business to help pay for your repairs.
