Re: crazyy close call...deer? hahah

Deer are a definite scare. I've had a couple close calls with them. Last time I went through the canyons we ran into a whole herd (bout 15 total) and I stopped about 1 foot short of the herd (I was leading the group, fortunately everyone else saw them as well). Not one deer even moved as 7 bikes were screaming towards them and after I stopped one of the damn things just stood in front of me and stared at me. Ended up havin to bump the deer with the front of my bike to get em to run away. Have had to bump a few with my car as well

90 on 18 in the rain and traffic? I used to live there. That should have scared you before the deer.

NJ and eastern Pa are high deer population areas with very little room for them to live. Be careful in those areas...especially at dusk and night.

I hit one with my SUV front-rack. It spun into my front quarter-panel, smashed it, and ran away.

Next time I was in an '84 Honda Prelude, doing 50 in a 50. I saw 3 deer running across the road and hit the brakes. What I didn't see was the fourth deer that jumped over the roof of the Honda. He left a hoof-print as proof on the side back window!

Re: crazyy close call...deer? hahah

Man I hate deer, last fall a buddy of mine and I were riding, had an issue with my clutch lever bolt falling out that caused us to begin running late so instead of the normal scenic twistie route we decided to jump down to the turnpike and boogey in that way. I was in the lead and at about warp 1.2 my partner wasn't keeping up anymore so I figured that was as fast as he felt comfortable at. 5 minutes later I saw a brown blur to my right we both did the full on panic stop thing. A mule dear the size of texas landed directly in front of me and then immediately jumped again. I was so glad it wasn't a white tail which would have just stopped when it landed.

I came round a corner to see 5 deer on my side of the road, crossed over to other side to get away from them but oh no they thought it was a good idea as well. One of them ran directly into the side of my bike, it made mincemeat of the deer and the bike was written off.

I have a video somewhere of a local guy here that blew straight through a deer about 90mph, completely trashed the plastics on his bike.

Re: crazyy close call...deer? hahah

I hit a good sized doe out in the country once doing about 50mph..

I should have cut the damn thing in half, but instead I went over it like a speed bump..

The bike went over and not 1 car drove by, so I was lucky to limp away with road rash..

It was one of those split-second wrecks where you can see it coming, but don't have any time to do anything besides think to yourself 'this is gonna hurt'

I had brown deer hair stuck in between the front rim and tire
