| Gravel and a Barrier! Howdy Guys, my first 'biggish' crash on my 2008 blade.
Heading down a to a corner, dabbed the brakes and whack! into the on coming barrier!
Not a particularly fast crash - but me thinks the forks and yokes are a little bent! The front wheel made contact with the fairing it when that far back.
Now await the insurance survey... |

| Re: Gravel and a Barrier! Just an update, been to have a look at the bike, its really weird the tank cover, damping system has all lifted up from the frame - see the second photo - where the bolt/screw attaches the tank cover to the frame.
Not sure whats happened I can only assume, pushing the front wheel and forks in, has caused the front to lift around the frame - any ideas?
More I look at it, the more I think the frame is kinked in that area. |

| Re: Gravel and a Barrier! Sorry to hear about your mishap Trickster and glad you're relatively ok. It may be a total loss if damaged at the steering head as you describe. If it's not bad maybe you can buy it back cheap. Not sure about rules regarding salvage bikes though. |

| Re: Gravel and a Barrier! Sounds like you might have bent the goose neck where the triples are mounted. Bummed if thats the case, because it is most likely going to be totaled out if the main frame is bent.
Glad to hear your ok though. |

| Re: Gravel and a Barrier! Update! Yes it still hasn't been repaired! Grr...
Well its been stripped down (all the fairing is off) and the Honda garage have said there is no damage to the Forks/Frame or Neck - the wheel and tyre took most of the impact.
All the parts are now in, and its being slowly rebuilt.
The tank lifting (I'm being told) is purely the tank cover lifting off the rubber mounts as I fell off I must of moved it.
Having the new clutch fitted at the same time.
Hopefully be back on the road in 2 weeks... |

| Re: Gravel and a Barrier! Hi there
glad to know you are ok.
I just crashed my bike as well, because of a of a speed bump in the midle of a corner... the result:
right foot broken, all bangedup and bruised and 2500 € repair on the bike...
but we have to see the up side, when it is ready it will be a sweet machine on the streets.
Ill make a post with before and after pics.
best regards to everybody |
