| take her license away I was out enjoying a beautiful sunday afternoon coming down ky 22 (a well known cop hangout) just cruising. I had put about 250 miles for the day and was only 8 miles from the house when a car tuned in front of me less than a hundred yards. I struck in the pass. front tire and went airborne at 50 mph. i anded on my head and back when i came too the 85 y/o woman was trying to drive away but her car was undriveable. The PD came to the er (working as a ff/medic in the area of course i knew him) and stated the witness saw her just turned and that she has a history and was under review to have her license taken away for a medical. walked away w/ a concussion and and sprained ankle. Will have pics soon the rc is trash . |

| Re: take her license away Glad to hear your ok. Hope you get a new bike and some compensation from her. I've always been a firm believer that the elderly should have to retake an eye exam as well as a road test. How many people will it take to get injured or killed before some laws are made? |

| Re: take her license away I hope you have a speedy recovery and get up on a new bike as soon as possible. I think at a certain age everyone should have their license revoked and then they have to prove that they should still have it and then have to defend their driving once a year |

They should have to be put through a refresher course to remind them how to drive

| Re: take her license away elderly drivers are a big problem for motorcyclists. its a shame there is no law for retesting here in the states. it seems to me anyone can get a drivers license. selling cars for a living i go for test rides quite frequently with crappy drivers. i have had customers coming in looking at cars for relatives with disabilities and im refering to the kind that should definately not be driving. one kid in his early to mid 20's could barely drive the vehicle in the parking lot, not too mention mom hold's his hand the whole way to my desk, i guessing so he didnt get distracted. kind of person i want driving a 3800lb suv without a clue...
i refer to my job as creating my own obstacles |

| Re: take her license away And she still tries a hit and run? Old beeatch should be taken to court. The old folk(some) think they are above the law and it really pisses me off.
I've had my rant...feel better now (glad you are ok fella!) |

They should have to be put through a refresher course to remind them how to drive | It is a good idea but Ive always believed that they should be made to change cars to automatics, then they only have steering to worry about

| Re: take her license away The AARP is behind stopping all legislation against Senior Offenders! The AMA doesn't do $h%t about these people even after the Horrific deaths in Cali in 04 or 05 @ the Fair Grounds when a driver had a seizure @ the wheel & ran over 16 people & killed 9 including the family of two girls & their mother in front of their father! We have 1 of the Best forums out there & we should use this to our advantage & begin to take action ourselves to prevent further incidents & deaths! And even more so, distracted drivers Bleeping with their phones while driving or painting their nails which caused the Death of a motorcyclist yesterday! A mother & a Beatiful woman! And they have yet to charge the driver because, the DA doesn't know what catagory this falls under? You believe that $h%t! That was on the news!!! Further investigation pending! I'm truly glad you are OK & still with us! Every day it is truly a mission to make it home alive! Stay safe everyone... |
