Down at the track!

So I went to the track for the first time in a few years and ended up going down after about 5 hours of riding. I've always been on 600s when I'm at the track and the 954 was a lot different. I went into a turn pretty hot and about 1/3 of the way through I lost the rear of the bike. I though about standing the bike up and just riding it off the track into the desert but I didnt I was running a set of qualifiers and they were sliding around on me quite a bit all day long. If I would have been running my 208s or slicks I would have made it no problem.

The bike isnt bad at all, just needs some paint and a stator cover and I'll be back on the road. Low sides are never very bad if the bike has space to slide. Lucky for me it did.

So....the bike is gunna be pearl white with some flake and just 2 red honda stickers on the bottom. Think that will look okay?

Ohh, I walked away from a 90mph spill with a bruised ego and thats it. My leathers are broke in now though. haha

Re: Down at the track!

sorry and congrats all at once. Never like to hear about someone going down, but if there is such a thing as a good time, it's in a controlled environment and with the rider walking away. glad it's turning out for you. and welcome aboard as well.

Re: Down at the track!

Same thing happened to me at Pueblo Motorsports Park last monday. Lowsided at about 100mph. The Teknics I was in opened up on the arm and left me a half-dollar sized strawberry. Bike needs new right side clipon, cutch cover, slider, instrument cluster. Couple hundred though. I walked away just fine besides being mad as hell. Glad to hear your ok.

Always good to walk away to fight another day....but you were in the right place for anything bad to happen. Quick fix and you'll be back out there before you know it
