| My First True Love Heres the story. Riding my bike, 06 1000rr, naturally all these stories have something in common, no friggin gear and gravel. So im going on the on-ramp on the freeway by my work, its like 8pm in Northern Cali. BEAUTIFUL day to ride. Like a dumbass im trying to look cool, have a dinky sweatshirt on, and some jeans. anyways, so im getting on and i see some oil on the road im going like 25mph, so its too late to do anything so i ride thru it, and then i try to run a straight line to clear my tires, i do and go to the edge and lean into the turn. as i do the MOTHER-EFFIN gravel, the stuff thats always there, the stuff that will ALWAYS be there, i catch it. bike goes right under me, i flip 3 times down the hill with the bike in mid-air. the bikes tumbles down like 4 more times, and i land right next to it. HORRIBLE pain hits me like 30 sec later. I call my buddy he comes and gets me. $30k in hospital bills, $12k to put the bike together ALL OEM parts + an exhaust k&n system, power commander. bike was 2 months old. 3 weeks later i get a ticket for speeding. oh and a bill for $500 for an abumlance i never called, yeah i had to pay it.. http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/6460/cimg2176.jpg http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/4634/cimg2180.jpg http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/7277/cimg2843.jpg http://img60.imageshack.us/img60/6124/cimg2844.jpg http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4594/cimg2845f.jpg http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/9143/cimg2846.jpg http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/5125/cimg2847.jpg http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/9890/cimg2848.jpg http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/2999/cimg2849.jpg http://img60.imageshack.us/img60/503/cimg2850.jpg http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/9569/cimg2851.jpg http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/8882/cimg2859o.jpg http://img60.imageshack.us/img60/1430/cimg2860.jpg http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/6871/cimg3235.jpg http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/1337/cimg3681.jpg |

| Re: My First True Love Sorry to read about the accident - looks like that'd sting a bit! Hope you're on the mend.
A good advert for wearing protective gear - I guess you've learned your lesson? Sweatshirts and jeans don't look quite as cool when you come off eh? |

25mph a lot of damage for that speed?
I pressume the speeding ticket was for another time
Thats the great difference between here and your country we would have had no medical bills at all.
Hope a mod makes this a sticky because of the injuries pictures, it may prevent someone else doing the same

| Re: My First True Love So sorry about your crash biggking. This is very good example that you don't have to be going fast to get pretty messed up with no gear on. It'll make me think next time I go out without all my gear on. Glad you got it all repaired and back out there too! |

| Re: My First True Love So, you paid more to have the bike repaired (12 K) then a brand new bike would have cost and you paid 30K in hospital bills for 25mph road rash - an acident that you could still think/call your friend after? And there is a ticket that you got mailed from the same evening even though you were coming home from work? I'm no math wizz but this 2+2 aint = 4! |

$6k was for plastics, nuts bolts, etc. all OEM.
$6k more was for exhaust system, power commander, some other stuff, aftermarket crap, carbon fiber, etc..
$30k was for hospital bill. ended up paying 500$ (super long story)
ticket came 3 weeks later for "excessive speed".. paid that
$500 for an ambulance i never took.
what 2 + 2 are you adding? the ones from mars? |

| Re: My First True Love Hey...im sorry for your loss but when you come online and try to invite everybody to a squid induced pity party try not to sling so much crap. http://www.***********/forums/showthread.php?t=64102 (at the 1000 rr . net)
I know they are red but for a complete set it is 600$$ no I did not forget a zero.
Here' s a set of white ones for 1,100 http://www.***********/forums/showthread.php?t=53905 (at 1000 rr . net)
Tiforce Titanium Dual exaust (moto GP style) 1,000 TiForce Exhaust Systems, Ti-Force Exhausts, Ti Force, Evolution, Exhausts, Systems, tiforce, TiForce, t-force exhaust, t-force
Then you go and cry about a $ 30,000 hospital bill for road rash and 500 for a ambulance ride you "did not take (?!?)" ...oh wait...long story....you only pay 500 - thats some crazy good insurance.
