| First 2004 R1 spotted in Tucson On my way home form work yesterday I spotted a Silver 04 R1 riding down 22nd St. So naturally I whipped my pick-up around and followed it. Turns out it was one of the techs from Eastside Yamaha running it in. Man that thing is SWEET in person. The pics do it no justice at all. I couldn't believe how narrow it feels compared to years past. The guy who was coming to pick it up is 55 years old, now that's badass in my book.

Dano | Is Bacchus buying it?
Dano, I have a kitchen pass from 3/12 to 3/25, would like to make it down your way for a day or two. How is the weather and Mt. Lemon?

| Re: First 2004 R1 spotted in Tucson Friend of mine has his silver R1. Got it late last week but it's been raining here in Socal since. So it hasn't even been started yet since it left Japan. Feels quite narrow sitting on it. The front fairing is fricken WIDE. Didn't really care for the looks any more in person. The seat and tail are friggen butt ugly. |

Forecast for 2-6" of rain over the next couple days...so mudslides are probably going to be happening in these burned areas.... |

| Re: First 2004 R1 spotted in Tucson Tank: The weather has been kind of so so lately. As far as Mt. Lemmon, well you can only go up about 11 miles on a bike. Anything past that is construction and wouldn't be too fun on the bike. We have also had quite a bit of snow on Lemmon and they have had it shut down a few times. There are other roads you could go to like Arivaca or even Kitt Peak if you wanted. Let me know when you might come down for sure, we can get together and go for some rides.

{edit} booth is just mad cause he isn't getting his 1000RR for a few more months. Hey I know how ya feel, I went through that with my 600RR.

For the prices to drop a little and work related stuff. I'm not in that big of a hurry. Let all the leg humpers buy them first You guys just get ridiculous with this hype bike. Following it down the street man?? Just go buy one and get it over with. |

| Re: First 2004 R1 spotted in Tucson You would think it was. And you would think that this new bike is the MVAugustaF4s strada or something, IE very rare. They are many of them at local vultureships with for sales signs on them, nobody has bought them yet. |

| Re: First 2004 R1 spotted in Tucson I hear what you're saying Booth. I think some of the hubbub with the new R1 is that it's the first one to hit showroom floors (of the three all new liter class supersports coming out in '04). Personally, I'd love to own one if I could afford an everyday bike AND an uber-sport, but then again I'd be thrilled to own either the Honda or the Kwak too. I think all three of them are pretty fantastic when you get right down to it. |
