I wish I had a pic of my starter bike.. A Yamahahahahahaha SRX600. I did crush my friend on a '91 750GSX-R in the twisties, so it wasn't entirely bad

It's actually just over two - and worth its weight in gold IMO.

Chain, the FZ1 looks nice

BDA your future bike looks like trash, and it will blow up when you wheelie it out of the dealership

Re: Announcing Chain's Yamahammer Forum!

In '92, when I started riding again after a 20 year hiatus, I bought an '82 Yamaha Virago (Viagra?)

The starter motor sounded like a washing machine full of quarters, but it always started. I sold it two years later for what I paid for it. ( To Valentino Rossi, who won some "world championship" on it or something...)

It worked much better than any piece of Yamaha Audio or guitar, drumset or amp I ever used.

Re: Announcing Chain's Yamahammer Forum!

Guilty as charged, my first street bike was an 850 "special". Then a few years later I had an FZR 600. But in my defense, I have owned at least one bike from all four big companies. I still use Yamaha 4wheelers and snowmobiles.

Re: Announcing Chain's Yamahammer Forum!

Ahhh, I started club racing at Willow Springs on an '85 RZ350. I bought that bike for the sole purpose of racing. I got my first trophy with that bike. I still have it, but it needs significant TLC to get it back on the road. It will become a project one of these days.

Another FZR6 - that was a great bike (I know a guy who's going to put a well preserved example on the track soon!). Post!
