| YAMAHA VMAX ?? Just wondering if anyone on here has ever owned, ridden, or know someone who had one of these. For some strange reason I really like how these bikes look. Just curious. |

| Re: YAMAHA VMAX ?? Yep, I owned a '92. It's a cult bike. I'd love to have another one before they go away.
Great barrels of rear poly tire hazing fun, poor range, odd riding position, great curbside appeal (everyone thinks they're much faster than they really are), pillion accomodations suck, frame is a bit flexy for spirited riding in the twisties (but it's still an entertaining bike to flog in the curves), front brakes are poor and benefit from stainless lines, paint and finish work is nice, easy to work on because it's a naked.
There is a reason Yamaha doesn't change this thing much at all since it came out when I was still in high school: they sell every single one they make. |

| Re: YAMAHA VMAX ?? ever go down to the liar's club? (17th ave shell) I was down there a couple times and this dipshit fat newfie (no offense TLR) was there with his (stock) vmax. Said it had "170 horsepower and 150 pounds of foot-torque". His words not mine.
Never ridden a vmax but basically what I know is that they have lots of power and are geared way too short so they haul ass in a straight line but apparently a bit of a handful in the corners. |

| Re: YAMAHA VMAX ?? Rode one on a demo ride at Bike Week. It's got plenty of straight line balls but the narrow bars and the riding position made for an uneasy feeling when the front end got a little light during hard acceleration. (insert damper and wide drag bars here) If I ever get a cruiser to haul the wife more comfortably around on, it would be a VMax. I liked it. |

| Re: YAMAHA VMAX ?? Everytime I get the chance I ride my buddies V-Max. So much power it should be illegal. It's been said before but it's a kick in the pants to ride. I found the ergo's comfy, but in the really tight stuff it's no sportbike. |

Edit: OK, so maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but still - the Eliminator was good at looking fast while being slow; the V-Max was the real deal.

| Re: YAMAHA VMAX ?? I saw a Victory Hammer at the motorcycle show last weekend. While it's definitely a cruiser, a label that the V-Max doesn't quite fit, that thing looked like it had some powah! I'd actually like to test ride one, just for kicks. 'Course, I'd like to ride a V-Max too, as I haven't. |

| Re: YAMAHA VMAX ?? Have always dug the V-Max.
Never have had a chance to ride one, but it sure is a sweet looking bike. |

| Re: YAMAHA VMAX ?? +1 on the Max. It will never be a sportbike, but it's cool. It also had a TON of aftermarket support! Anything you want you can do from 2000cc kits to blowers. |
