Haven't seen many mid ten second 600rrs' hangin around the Tasty Freeze lately. Not even too sure about the top speed either. That author may be better than he thinks regarding his ability to pile it on . . . |

Works for Yamafans.
But yeah, it was funny how he overstated his bike while making fun of the other guy for doing the same. |

| Re: Electric CBR600RR That's some funny **** right there. I can see the dumbass scratching his head.
A bunch of friends and I went on a long ride deep into Vermont one year on our sportbikes. We came to a gas station(about 30 of us)and began to pump our gas. These two back country redneck type fellas walk out of the store and stop right infront of our bikes just staring. One turms to the other and says, "There sure is a lot of plastic on them Harley bikes nowadays!" Each and every one of us just blew up in uncontrollable laughter. It made our day for sure. |

I didn't gather that he was saying he was capable of extracting those numbers. Just that the bike was capable of it.
What's wrong with that?

What's wrong with that? | oops, accidently edited your post. Sorry about that . . .
I have yet to see any stock 600rr that can do the quarter mile in 10.5 unless the rider is Ricky Gadson and the motor was hand picked from Honda's parts bin. I have also read 3 different reviews that put the top speed at somewhat less than 165 . . . |

But that was my point. Yes, it takes a rider with damn near supernatural powers to pull that off. But it does indeed prove that the bike is capable of it.
That's all I'm saying. |

| You forgot 1/2 of that equation: "and the motor was hand picked from Honda's parts bin."
Many times that is how the bikes that the magazines (the only people that record those kind of times) get are put together. This is also the way most Factory SuperSport bikes are setup. Get the loosest set of main bearings, the longest rods, the lightest pistons, the most out of spec cams and build a "stock" bike after you balance the crank, weight match the pistons/rods/wristpins/wristpin bearings. Then a full round valve job, degree the cams and you're ready to go for that mid tens run on a "stock" 600.
