I guess I'll just be amused by myself.

Re: How close to the '04 R1 is THIS?

I noticed the frame sliders and the quick release fasteners. *Don't like the fuel tank. *The tail section is much better, although the bottom is to curved upward for me and the hump is awful big. *I do like the front end, mainly upper fairing, intakes look like they mean to swallow some serious air. *I still like the 600RR/RC211 intakes better I think. *Underseat exhaust is definitely nice and that swing arm looks good. The '03 R6 swing arm is very sweet looking. Still won't buy one thought, doesnt' say Honda.

Aahhh!!.. That's it... I just couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Actually I have been close to a Yammie purchase twice in my life. First was a FZR600 in '93, second was a R1 in '03. I have never regretted the '93 F2 I once owned nor the '03 954 that I own now.

I think those cold air or ram air ducts look like . Can't they hide them better?

Yeah, leave it to Yamaha to screw up just one aspect of the styling. With the '02/'03 it was the tailsection. Now these air inlets. They ARE kinda prominent, eh? Maybe they'll be less visible on a bike with black paint...?

(They look a little F-22 to me! )

I was the same way. Was real close to an R1 purchase when I was shopping for my 929. Definitely don't regret making the choice I did. Honda 0wnz j0o

Hmm, I've thought about it and thought about it, but it's still going over my head - whooooosh! . Biz obviously got it. I can only think that it has something to do with TAZ? Could be wrong...

Amen on that, LTL. Thats why I try to stay away from Finland (on company dime of course) as much as possible. All the time spent on business trips is pure savings. Cheap track days are the only thing keeping me here...

Re: How close to the '04 R1 is THIS?

I don't mind it... though I think the latest pics of the CBR1000RR look better, but anyway, I'm still holding out..

As for Finland, my greatest regret it losing touch with a frien dof mine from Finland, now that I can actually afford to fly there

Z...
