| Re: 2006 FJR 1300 Okay that's pretty freakin' cool! Huge toss up between that and the ST. One is more performance based the other is touring based. |

Speaking of ST1300, I wonder if Nedro still has his & what he thinks of it now? | |

| Re: 2006 FJR 1300 Isn't the new R6 supposed to have an electronic throttle (no cable)?
They should put that electronic shifting on bike targeted towards women.
A cool feature for those with small hands or not a lot of hand strength. |

| Re: 2006 FJR 1300 I had the 2005 FJR 1300 for 3 months. Very nice bike but, if Yamaha didn't address the heat issue on this bike don't buy it !! Any ride when the temp was above 70 degrees was like being in a sauna. |

I have a buddies that have 05 models and they admit it gets hot but no where near as hot as they used to. |

Or maybe its because I had a CBR1000 that would hit 240 in traffic. Maybe Im used to the heat. |

| Re: 2006 FJR 1300 The ATVs have had the push button tranny for a long time now, I'm sure that Honda could add it to the Goldwing or ST in a heartbeat.
That said, I feel that Honda's motorcycle division has gone downhill lately. They don't really seem to care to listen to customers and bring the bikes we want to market. Now that Honda has a massive new expense to cover in F1, it will most likely get worse before it gets better. |

| Re: 2006 FJR 1300 I was actually concidering trading the GL on a brand new ST. Since we're having our first child at the end of November, I doubt that the wife and I will be doing any trips together on the bike for the next several years. The ST gets almost 300 miles per tank and handles decently as opposed to the GL which gets about 170 miles per tankfull and the peg feelers, lower cowl, and engine gards are wearing away from riding up in the mountains all of the time.

| Re: 2006 FJR 1300 The ST has pretty decent clearance. My old man touches his pegs down occasionally but no guards or cowls. |

| Re: 2006 FJR 1300 Well, I'm going to throw my two cents in here. I honestly think I have the best of road bike situations with both the 954 and the ST. One for down and dirty road carving, the other for long distance and road carving.
You all know about the Fireblade, so here are my thoughts on the ST. It is surprisingly nimble and flickable. It has tons of torque and the V-Four engine has been one of my all time favorites (my third V-Four bike). Shaft drive and one never has to worry about lubing the drive train on an extended trip or after a rain! I love the storage the bags provide. The heat concerns that have so often been mentioned have not been noticeable to me at all
Maybe it's because I wear protective gear all the time, but it seems to be no hotter to me than the 'blade.
The only thing that really gets my attention is how much more it weighs compared to the 'blade when jockeying it around the garage. Actually it really is not that heavy for what it is...it's just that moving it around makes me realise just how light the 954 is.
I'm very happy with the ST. Yammie's new FJR promises to be a great bike, but it's not enough to get me to cross over. Besides, I like using a clutch and foot shifter on a bike. Perhaps Yamaha is trying to capitalize on the generation that grew up pounding thumbs on a video game???
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have not had any heat complaints with my ST. Also, another thought. Somedays I have a very hard time deciding which bike to ride it's that good. No, not as good as the 954, but the ride fun factor makes it a winner. I can also coax it to deliver 48 mpg if I'm careful (usually not...I like the torque!). |

| Re: 2006 FJR 1300 Huh. You know I never knew the ST was a V4. I thought it was either inline or flat. Learn something new everyday.
