Funny thing is, it's only like this in the US moto press... Most of the Euro mags still have their tongues firmly stuffed up Honda's arsehole.

They didn't want to give you your money back eh? You'd think they would want to keep the bike to jack the price up to sell to a squid... oh well Good luck!

Only with Yamaha. Not with the dealer.

Nope didn't want to. The sales manager was so busy being an asshole, he didn't realize how not giving me my money back was not a winning proposition.

$1000. It will be more than that before I quit.

I'm going to learn a hard lesson here I think.

Don't you think worst case you would be able to buy it then resell it for what you paid? Assuming it will be a high demand bike? Maybe I'm overly optimistic...

Use what they've (dealer?) said (concerning issue) in comparison to whatever small print on deposit. They don't usually match, and catching someone (through-out the chain) on a better verbal deal (refund) is only one way of re-couping your expenditure at this point.
anyway, Good Luck.

Re: 06 R6 NOT very impressive--LTL take a Look BEFORE you take Delivery

The dumbshit manager admitted to me if I cancelled it now, another dealer would buy it tomorrow, and it still hasn't arrived.

He was just being a dickhead...for the sake of being a dickhead. This is where sleeping next to a law student...who works at a law firm, comes into play.

It might cost me some money, but the numbers will be small, and I swear to God I will cost these ****ers more than I cost myself.

If it goes to small claims court the judge will laugh them out of the courtroom... (I've been there) and you can go after them for your legal costs.

You probably signed an offer to purchase, no? Did you put a "subject to..." line in there? That would make it easier.

Man, this blows.

I have a beer I've been wanting to drink in the fridge...and I have a strict, "no drinking while mad or sad" policy.

Someone make me feel better.

Did you sign anything stating the deposit was non-refundable?
I'm sure your girlfriend has already gone over all of it with you, but that dumbass is in for a rude awakening.

It's worded as a "fee for services". The first sentence is a fragment. It's clearly not written by an attorney, just a long time salesman.

It has a pretty damn big hole, I spotted on the way home, but it's not clear how well I'll be able to exploit it yet.

As far as the second part, that's the hard lesson I just learned. I was so excited to get the bike, I didn't put things on there that were verbal. Verbal contracts actually stand up reasonably well in court, but we'll see.
