| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior It's not a stock fairing but it 'is' a Yamaha accessory. There are different aftermarket windscreens but ti me they make the bike look more like a boring dime-a-dozen cruiser than a kick-butt power cruiser.

As for laon haul....some bags and a comfy seat and you're all set.
The stock seat for the '06 is supposed to be better than the earlier models but it could use a little bit of shaving for some better rear support. There's aftermarket seats too so it's not a huge issue.
I'm planning on doing all of my long haul rides on this bike. | thanks for all the info and pics of your baby. how about a review after you come back from one of your trips? i'm sure many would love to live vicariously through you and the warrior. |

| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior Had an 02 warrior in indego. Drag bars, custom ripsaws, lowerer 2 inch and hard tail conversion, bobbed the tail, 280 conversion, intagrated the turn signals, PCIII, K&N, and made a side mount plate bracket. It was a freakin beast, had the front up on several occasions. Thats scary on a bike that size.
I miss it alot! Hurricane Jeanne in 04 sand blasted the crap out of it and dented it up something feirce. Sold it for $9,000 though with damage. I envy you
EDIT: There is alot of stuff on the that site thats linked and churchkey is a great guy. |

EDIT: There is alot of stuff on the that site thats linked and churchkey is a great guy. | Sounds like you had a sweet bike Punisher. A 280 rear...wow! I've been haunting the rswarrior site and learned a ton of stuff from churchkey and the guys. I have drag bars and your bobbed tail must've looked great with the 280.
I kept stock ride height...I find I need the clearance. I put a PR air kit on it and did AIS block off. Have a PC3 and put V&H Bigshots on after removing the 'water heater'. I go for a dyno tune next weekend as I'm running rich right now and I don't want to mess with the AF settings. gotta get my baby breathing deeply, ya know.
I put about 1000 mi's on it so far with a 700 mi trip to VT a few weeks ago. The bike was alot of fun and comfortable to ride all day. We rode for 4 days and it handled great in the dry and the wet weather. I had a passenger on it for a short ride and I'll tell ya, I barely noticed the difference in handling.
The front brakes are awesome...radial mounted calipers and they grab like a 'mother' when they need to. I still use 2 fingers too and don't find I need to use more.
Twisties were fun and the bike handles great...the aluminum frame helped alot as the bike is balanced nicely and minimal steering input is needed to get her to move around.
The best part of the trip what that I beat HGToo when we took off from a stop light. Love that torque. We went for a short 'drag' down the road...victory was sweet. She would have smoked me in the long run but now I get to gloat that my 'cruiser' is faster than her sportbike. I have our friends as witnesses so she can't deny that it happened. Aahhh...the sweet taste of victory.
It's a great bike and wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm so glad I got it and it's a blast to ride...a cruiser on steroids...what more can a gal ask for??? |

As much as I like my Vstar classic, I may have gotten the wrong cruiser. |

We aren't squids nor do we pretend to be squids but we did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once. |

I have to say I am jealous as hell. That bike is probably the ONE cruiser I would consider buying. Seeing the mods you put on her has me WANTING one now..

Hmmm...maybe I'll bring it to Grattan so everyone can do demo rides. |

Low as well so very confortable but I do agree with you about keeping your feet to the front. That's always weird especially when I just did few days at the track. |

Sweet.. | We've all violated rule #8 at some point over the last couple years.* Even Getsome, who promptly bitchslapped me into STFU oblivion. *Except me, Conq. I would never break any of the site's rules. Especially since I have my own smilie. |

| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior The bike is verry receptive to mods especialy when you take the time to tune it. With the hard tail conversion the ride was rougher but nothing a gel seat didnt help out.
The bike was REAL low when I stood strddeling the bike seat was even with the middle of my knee cap and I had little ground clearence. I had to be REAL carfull about speed bumps and steep cresting parking lot entrences. I would not have given that bike up willing ly for the world.
Motorcycle cops came up to me all the time when I was filling up and asking what it was and what I had done to it. They loved it when it started too. IT WAS MEAN. My neighbor had a harley and I let him ride it. He said his bike never felt the same, less responce less power and much less stable at high speeds. The fastest I've been was about 125 on it. The wind feals like it wants to rip you off, your for arms hurt from holding on . Thats all your realy doing at that speed. The drag bars made it possible to tuck and get less wind resistance.
I never realy cared for the farring, mine was all open with the big ole Yamaha "double T" fat drag bars. I could talk about it for hours and I would drop the cash to get another one in a heart beat but I do not have a garage any more so yeah that wont work out too well. So all i can do is reminess when I can. Its actualy been the only vehicle I have ever missed truly. It was my baby. |

| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior I took a Warrior for a spin about a month ago and was pretty surprised with the handling. I don't much care for having my feet/legs in front of me when riding but the bike did accelerate and stop well and turn in was pretty smooth and easy. |
