I had it out this past weekend and it was a guy magnet. We stopped at a Honda open house and I had at least 8 guys come over and drool over the bike.
I don't have much in the way of pics right now so I just took a pic of it in the garage. I have some work to do on it to get it breathing right so it's pretty much stock except for a few esoteric goodies. |

| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior Very cool bikes. I had an 03 model that was real fun to ride. Be careful though, these bikes are prone to heavy modding. Way more than a sportbike. First thing is to lose that huge, restrictive exhaust and get a dual K&N intake setup. Does a world of good for those bikes. They do a hell of a burnout also. |

| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior I already have the necessary parts to make her run better. Wed & Thursday are mod days when I get to take things apart and get rid of the unnecessary stuff.
We're probably having a BBQ in August or Sept so you guys can come by and we'll go riding. |

| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior Check out Yamaha Road Star Warrior:: Home for info on mods. One of the guys on there sells an intake that he makes, called Churchkey VBak or something like that. I bought one and really liked it. Only drawback is the instructions are a little vague and the pictures are not good. But once its done and an exhaust is fitted it really comes to life. You will need a power commander.
I took mine to Deals Gap with the wife on back. Dont ride on wet roads with a passenger if the mudflap has been removed. Dont ask how I know.
Thats the wife on the bike, not me.

| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior Yup, got plans for the 'water heater' exhaust...it's coming off. I've got a PC3, Vance & Hines big shot exhaust, a big air kit from Patrick Racing and an AIS block-off kit. That should get me started. Then, it'll be time to get a custom map. After I had a map done for my 954 it made a world of a difference and I definitely want to get the Warrior putting out max power....even though there's tons of torque now....gotta have more.
No long rides yet have her opened up on the highway last night...not too much, but enough to get a big .
It's nicely balanced too. We were in barely moving traffic and I was paying more attention to the merging cars when I realized that I never had to put my foot on the ground even when barely moving. Pretty cool.
The ride is more soft than my 954, a bit cushy right now but nothing that can't be cured with some tweaking and a stiffer spring. (which is easy to replace too, no busted knuckles like on the 954).
I did change the stock handlebars and put the Yammi T bar on it...I like the way the bike feels and handles with the drag bar rather than the stock bars.
We were at a bike night last night and I was parked next to HGToo's 929. My bike got more looks than hers did, but the crowd there wasn't a sportbike crowd either so she shouldn't feel too bad.
Anyway, it's a great bike and tons of fun. A different riding style but fun nonetheless. |

| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior Very nice HondaGal!
Park Harding Honda was giving away test rides on some of their Warriors, unfortunately I rode one with a Cobra aftermarket exhaust with no Power Commander. It popped and burped and even stalled at a red light.
Other than that, it was fun. |

| Re: Yamaha Midnight Warrior Indeed HG, that is sweet! I'd love to see the entire bike with those bars.
Oh, just one thing though...the background in that pic gave me a flashback to the late sixties. I won't say anything as I cannot remember, so go ask Alyce. |
