Need advice (2000 R6 track bike)

Hi everyone, having been on this site for as long as it's been opened, I highly value member's opinions here.

I'm just wondering if I should jump on this deal! ($3500 CAD).

It sounds good, and $ wise is where I'm willing to spend. It'll just be for casual trackdays, as I don't have the $ nor the skill to amateur race.

Anything particularily wrong? How about carb vs. FI. I've ridden carbed bikes b4, and back then it didn't feel bad - how often does one need to clean/resync carbs?

Thanks in advance!

==========

-2000 R6 (track only) but has clean ON title
-bone stock motor (has in the 25,000km range) i had a wire harness issue and the speedo dosnt work, but tach works fine, so milage is somewhat in the ballpark. 2nd gear does NOT slip
-NRC case covers both sides
-dynojet jet kit, tune by tomicic customs here in windsor
-full hindle exhaust, its now dented and rashed up
-complete race tech front forks, gold comp/rebound and .85 springs, rebuilt AUG 26th 2006.
-ohlins rear shock 46PRXLS
-galfer braided lines front and back
-Vesrah RJL pads
-Q racing reasets STD shift
-Vortex clip-ons
- 520 RK chain, 14/15/16 and 46/47/48/49/50/51 vortex sprockets
-scotts damper
-frame sliders

everything else:
2 other sets of rims, 2 spare set of rotors ontop of those already on the 3 sets of rims, stock forks, mint gas tank with lock/key, spare bodydouble race bodywork, spare brake components (calipers, master cylinder, stock lines), spare stock rear sets, stock clip ons, spare clutch perch and levers, spare brake levers, parts motor (top end removed, ported, shaved 25 thou, bottom end has 8000km on it)

im looking to get $4200 for everything i got related to the bike. i was looking for $5000, but i crashed this weekend and destroyed a set of bodywork and i bent the forks so i swapped all the internals into my spare set of forks. if you want just the bike, with no spare wheels or parts.... ill take $3500. it shuold be available september 12th when my new bike arrives.

wiring issues and hey 2nd gear doesn't slip. sounds like an honest guy saying don't buy my bike.

first thing i check on a bike is wiring. yea i do the electronics type work. if the wiring is fraged run.

bending forks takes one hell of an impact. if the frame hasn't been spect out by some guru frame guy i would make sure to have it done.

good luck i'm also in the market for a prime track whore.

I have a freind in Perth that had one until a few days ago, She sold it because once she became competative she found the bike was slowing her down. But I am sure ti is decent enough to get your start.

2nd gear slip was a known issue with that year/generation of bike. This one hasn't exhibited the symptoms, should be okay?

Wiring issue is worrying, but this is going to be a full time trackbike, so how much electrics do I need other than to start it up and power the tach (which should work)

Didn't think about the bent forks - he did race it that weekend....

"dynojet jet kit, tune by tomicic customs here in windsor"

worth more than the bike actually . . .

Abtech: haha, thanks for your input, your opinion alone would probably sway me.

I spoke with the guy again, I think I'll be writing a check soon. He promises to fix the wiring issue before delivery, and since he actually races the bike, he's confident in that the frame is okay. he checked for stress marks, etc - all safe.

Now, finally, should I spring for all the extra parts??
