Why Sprint? I spoke with couple Wera guys that drives yamaha and both have pitbull but talked to few other guys and they love scotts so why Sprint?
Couple of WERA guys eh?

It works better than either the Scotts or the Pitbull and is probably a few bucks cheaper as well.

It doesn't have the "bubble" in the middle which prevents most dampers from catching the first pulse. It's also heavier duty than the Scotts.

Just Wera but still good friends and I've learned alot about my Yamaha because of them so........nothing more then just that... Just like to listen to people that's been around more then a few. Make sense I hope.

I like your explaination. The site you posted only show the dampers... Any website I could read more from?

Thanks for the info.. I love to learn about bikes...

The only buble is in the scotts, because the valving is on the top, the gpr/pitbull are on the bottom so no way you will ever get a bubble in those 2.

The sprint is nice, but its a piston damper, and crashability isn't as nice as a rotory.

The pitbull still doesn't catch the first deflection. Read Max's and Honda Britain's post about the comparison.

Even the Ohlin's piston damper has the bubble. It doesn't have anything to do with where the valving is located, it has to do with the seals, stroke length and valving volume per stroke. Piston dampers have never been shown to be inferior to any other type of damper, in fact the opposite is true in every test I have seen (including personal experience). The Ohlins however did have a problem when they attempted to eliminate the bubble and had a 90% hydralock issue which was resolved with a complete redesign of the seals and secondary chamber volume cavitation.

Crashability is a non-issue since both mount in the same place and I have never seen a top mount have any problem in a crash (except for the Scotts which ripped out it's mounting screws, but they do that during a tank slapper, so it really doesn't matter).
