| $40,000 Custom R6 This looks like fun (although I'd be pretty paranoid about wadding it at that price): 2006 Jamie James Yamaha R6 - MotorcycleUSA.com |

I like Jamie James, but his bikes are outrageously overpriced for what you get.
That bike could be built for $15k total, easily. |

| Re: $40,000 Custom R6 Well, it also has carbon composite wheels - and those puppies aren't cheap...and Galfer wave rotors all around. Did you note the Akra full Ti exhaust?
For a track-only bike, why isn't he running full slicks?
The article did read like a paid-endorsement for Jamie James however! Nice bike, but not worth $30K over the new bike price. |

| Re: $40,000 Custom R6 Since they did the article (link), I seriously doubt that 40K changed hands. Most of this stuff is to generate orders and they threw out the number.
Knowing Jamie, I would bet his "business manager" ran the show on this one . . . |

| Re: $40,000 Custom R6 No, but I believe with a good rider he can out drive a 1000 out of the corner and make the 1000 rider look like a retard.
Big HP on the track is really not needed as you will see if you go to one someday. |

I used to regularly embarass 1000s on my 250. CI don't mean squat on a road course . . . |

| Re: $40,000 Custom R6 All though I do have to say, at my last track day. A guy that races expert through WERA and i were dicing it up a bit, he let me lead a few laps and the in the straight about 3/4 down he passed me, not really the place you would expect another 600 to catch up to you but he did. He was on the 06 R6. Good guy though. |

| Re: $40,000 Custom R6 holy outta context batman !!!
for the digress
IMHO a brilliant rider + 100bhp bike can embarass pretty much any bike riden by an average joe
for my 1st post, try it like this
seems a shame to spend so much money on a 600, when a thou is already so quick for less
n to ever it was, yeah my ridin's hardly the best & i could bore you with why, but i haven't faired so bad on the track dayS i've done already..
cheers! |
