Scotts Damper on Ebay for my R6

Ok, I am extremely new with ebay and I just found a Scotts Damper for my R6.

So far, the price is half of what you would pay it new but still have until the 28 of November.

Can someone explain a little the process on how this works? I don't want to get screwed with my cash and want to make sure I'm getting what I am paying for.

Or, is buying new better? If I could save some cash, then I can buy extra rims, front stand, trailer, etc.....

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
V~

Sometimes buying new is the best way about it, you never know where that part might have been.

When was it serviced?
Was it crashed?
Is everything there?

All that come to mind when thinking about used parts that are as important as that.

Might check out the Sprint.

Abtech suggested it here:
witch damper do you like

And some suggested sales points here:
Who sells Sprint dampers in the US?

Re: Scotts Damper on Ebay for my R6

No problemo.
If you want to put a damper designed and engineered for a dirt bike by Ohlins, a damper they refuse to market for a sport bike and none of their sposored roadrace teams run, go for it.
You want a damper that can't compare to a piston-rod type damper on the track, that's your decision.
Good luck with it.

Right on!!!!!!! You have to admit BDA116, you are putting yourself out there like an old fart.

I am going with Pitt bull or Scotts...

What's so weird about this sport is that who ever gets sponsor by, will love the product...I ask, read, and pay attention........ so far, everyone love everything...... all in choice on what makes you feel comfortable

I have a scotts on my 600 RR and it's getting switched over to the R6. I'm happy with it. But I don't have much to compare it to. I'll bid on it for you if you want.

Has nothing to do with sponsorship, and the only ones "putting themselves out there" are those using and pushing the rotary crap.
Not ONE SINGLE factory road race team uses a rotary damper, especially not the Scotts rebadged Ohlins dirt bike damper. And it has NOTHING to do with sponsorship. Those guys will run whatever makes the bike safest.
The ONLY place you'll see a bunch of rotary crap is in club racing, where riders WILL use whatever they can get from a sponsor.
Why you continue to listen to those pushing a sub-par damper is beyond me.
But then again, I really don't care. It's your money. You want to waste it, go ahead. Your skin as well. You want to buy a sub-par damper when you can buy a quality one go ahead, again I don't care.
Pretty funny that you continue to toss out actual positive information for shitty info. Neither the PitBull nor Scotts is anywhere near as good as a Sprint, Matris, Hyperpro, Ohlins, etc.

Geez, you're pretty angry for a guy in prison! But you have a great point with the AMA racers running the piston type damper. I think the important thing is that you get a damper... that isn't from the factory.

I love it when people think they can discern someone's emotions from their keyboard.
Like I said, I don't really care. I'm just sharing GOOD information.
Get whatever you want, and yes ANY damper is better than NO damper.

I totally agree with you there BDA116........ I wish I could have all that and more.........but I wont be running pro in this lifetime...... My chance of that is gone..... so, I'm just trying to be "at a level" that will give me as much as I can do to follow what I can be. one step at the time......

I do appreciate your comment... Really

Just agree with BDA that a piston style damper is superior so he will calm down, before he has a heart attack. Sometimes you got to admit you are wrong even though you feel you are not around elderly people.

I have used both piston and rotary type When I bought mty 2002 R1 I bought ohlins under hard acceleration i would still get a lil head shake even crankinking the damper stiffer but once I sold the ohlins I bought a scotts rotary type and loved it, every bike I have owned since had been refitted with a scotts.
