Okay dude this fuggin sucks so just dig and take your time. If you don't have a good memory take pics and put the bolts/screws in very well labelled baggies...
Lift the tank, as if you were going to change the air filter (hmmm good idea to change this while you are there, if you haven't in awhile) I propped the tank with a mod'ed broom handle. You may want to take it all the way off. There will be some gas spillage but not much. Also, label all the airhoses
Remove the airbox-should be about 7 screws around the outside and oh, one deadnuts in the middle that you just have to "feel" your way to.
Don't know about the 00 model but on the 02, I had to loosen the bolts that hold on the airbox to the throttle bodies. You have a carb somewhere in there.
And then, cause there is always a "and then", you have to lift this rubber diaphram thingy. (hey, you will see what I mean). It actually goes over your spark plugs. Remember how this goes cause it will need to go back on the same way. Hence, the camera suggestion cause the manual sucks at this. Also, there was a plastic retainer holding my diaphram down. Becareful undoing those capture screws. You have to use one hand to hold the outside while unscrewing it.
and then, TADA......

you have reached the sparkplugs.
Now the fun begins......
Be sure to have the following,
Socket
Extension short and long
swivel adapter
and the most important piece of equipment that I used....
a 1/4" fuel line hose. WHy? Cause when those pesky plugs fall in, you can't get your goober pickers in there to fish them out. Use the hose to grab the "white" part and pull it out. Also works awesome to get them started.
Oh, and a torque wrench.
Then you put her all back together. Refer to your pictures.
Should take oh, about 1-2 hrs depending on your skill level and the amount of beer you are drinking between swearing.
Some people go over the radiator. How they do that is FM to me but they do.
When you put it back together be doubly sure to get the airbox seated firmly on the carbs. Any unmetered air gets in there and it will cause some major issues.
Have fun and let us know how it turns out.
OH, have fun with the iridium plugs. OW they hurt. BOHICA MAN BOHICA.
