Project Bike

So I bought a bike for my stepdad that I have made my project bike. Here are a few pics. Its a 1979 XS1100. This is my first project bike so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear them!!
Now in most cases a stepdad is just a pain in the ass, but this guy has at least been there to fight with me, offer support (even when I was stubborn and wouldn't take it) and just been a stand up man. I really want to make this bike as nice as I can for him as my little way to say thank you

Re: Project Bike

and yeah I know its not a Honda (I'm upset about it too) but any help like I said would be appreciated.
I already have new gauges and handle bars, turn signals are a no brainer and easy to get.
