Shifting Worries

I have a major concern with the loud "pop" I hear if I shift from first to second if I'm going to fast for the transition. I'm not sure if I should be using the clutch or doing a clutchless shift to prevent this from happening again and to prevent any major damage to my bike. Does anyone know what I should do?

Re: Shifting Worries

Use the clutch, its there for a reason. If its popping with the clutch being used then it sounds as if the damage is already done

Re: Shifting Worries

Sorry, but let me rephrase the question a little bit. The "pop" sound that I hear seems to be the gear catching very hard. No grinding or anything other than that. I'm just worried that that will do some damage. The reason I wanted to know if I should use the clutch or not is because this happens when I do use the clutch. I'm actually scared to see what the a clutchless shift would result in.
