Warrior / Raider Comfort

Hi,
I'm looking to get out of the Harley gang and into a more comfortable better handling machine. Do any of you have a Yamaha Warrior (midnight) or a Raider? Can you tell me, are they comfortable enough to ride all day, or similiar to a Harley, i.e., pray to get off every 100 miles or so?

I have a Warrior and I could ride it all day. The seat is comfortable I think, but I"m also used to riding an RC51 so anything will seem worlds apart comfort-wise. I like the little bit of stretch for both reaching the handlebars and also the foot controls. My friend has a Warrior and I've ridden it. It has an aluminum frame, so it's light for the size of the bike, and handles surprisingly well for a cruiser. IF I were to ever get a cruiser, that would be the one. She has the midnight,and put the Yamaha drag bars and fly screen on it, and it looks awesome. She can ride it all day comfortably. She added a Mustang seat. There's an RS Warrior forum that has a lot of good info.

Do you want an all-day bike or an all-day cruiser?

A bike with a standard seating position is going to be better than a cruiser for distance riding (GS, supersport tourer, Wing, etc...) One reason is that you can just stand up and stretch whenever you need to. Also, you're able to put weight on your legs and not just your tailbone.

I like the Warrior. I was really considering it before I bought my VTX. The deciding factor was passenger comfort. B/C of that huge canon of an exhaust on the Warrior, the passenger footpegs were ridiculously high compared to the seat. My wife has long legs and there's no way she could have spent any time back there. Maybe they've changed the bike recently, but it's definitely something to keep in mind.

I have ridden a warrior for the past five years. As is the case with most bikes, the stock seat is not that comfortable. I replaced mine with a Corbin gunfighter and more recently a corbin solo. I have ridden over 600 miles in one day one the bike and while I can't say I felt great at the end of the trip, I was not in any server pain. 100-200 mile days are very comfortable on the warrior with an appropriate aftermarket seat.

A bunch of guys over at the RoadStarRaider.com site have owned both bikes. Seems that a lot of them prefer the Raider over the warrior having owned both.
