The 2009 BMW X6 – Stylish and comfortable

    October 3rd, 2008 · No Comments · BMW, Cars

The BMW X6 2009 is the world’s first Sports Activity Coupé. The new BMW combines the performance, agility, and athletic design of a big BMW Coupé with the raised seating position and versatility of an SUV. With this version, BMW has once again defined a totally new vehicle concept.

The BMW X6 offers two world premieres namely the Dynamic Performance Control and the all-new Twin Turbo V8 petrol engine which incorporates the High Precision Injection - the most efficient engine in its class. The most innovative petrol direct injection system, the High Precision Injection from BMW, makes the combustion process more efficient. The distinct features of the engine are its greater performance and lower fuel consumption.

A part of BMW Efficient Dynamics, High Precision Injection comes under BMW’s package of innovations that combine fuel efficiency and dynamic performance.

The piezo injector is the core element of High Precision Injection technology that is positioned between the spark plugs and the valves. Multiple layers of piezo crystals are contained inside the injector which expands when electricity is passed through them.

The piezo injector allows fuel to be injected in just 0.14 milliseconds, making it possible to introduce multiple injections of fuel within one single combustion process. The high-performance, flexible electronic control system adjusts the timing and dose of the injected fuel according to the engine power demand, operating temperature and cylinder pressure.

Dynamic performance control gives the BMW X6 unique new cornering qualities. Track stability is improved through the seamless drive distribution to the left- and right-hand rear wheels, regardless of whether the driver is accelerating or not. This allows the driver to enter bends more precisely and cross-accelerate faster with optimized grip. Together with the all-wheel X drive system, Dynamic Performance Control helps to deliver enhanced agility and dynamics on all surfaces.

The X6 is a stylish and elegant X5 sized SUV with sporty lines, with an acutely angled set of ‘A’ pillars and coupe-shaped arse. Sitting on the standard 19” wheels, the BMW X6 has a very large amount of aggressive aesthetic appeal.

The X6 is effectively a nimbler version of the X5 4×4. Although there are minor differences between the two at slow speeds, the more sophisticated four-wheel-drive system fitted to the X6 ensures that the vehicle has exceptional grip and traction on road.

    2009 BMW X5

    August 21st, 2008 · No Comments · Cars

The 2009 BMW X5 should see no major changes. The BMW midsize SUV seats up to seven and available in two models. The 3.0si has a 260-hp 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine. The 4.8i has a 350-hp 4.8-liter V8. Both models come only with and automatic transmission. Seating is for five, but an optional 3rd row expands this to seven. BMW X5s have all-wheel drive but no low-range gearing. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system with rollover sensors, and hill descent control. Front side airbags are standard, as are the curtain side airbags that cover the first two seating rows and include rollover deployment. All X5s have BMW’s iDrive that uses a single knob to control entertainment, communication, navigation, and climate functions. Other available features include Active Roll Stabilization, which counters body lean; Active Steering, designed to quicken low-speed steering response; and steering-linked xenon headlights. Also available are a navigation system, head-up instrument display, DVD entertainment, rearview camera with front/rear obstacle detection, and BMW Assist concierge service with wireless cell phone link.
