2009 Audi Q7 Prices Review Specs Photos

This is the third year of the Audi Q7 SUV. The 2009 luxury SUV seems to have what it takes to be lapped up happily by the market. ‘Crossover’ is a fancy term these days and the Audi Q7 is sold as a crossover luxury SUV. German engineering precision can be easily felt as you take a drive. The Quattro all-wheel drive system has become some sort of a signature on the Audi Q7, with all three trims available in Quattro. With its sporty handling and good traction, safety, regal good looks, and powerful performance, the car qualifies as a convenient luxury family SUV at least for those who can shell out the $43,500 which is the MSRP.

The 3.6 Liter V6 engine delivers 280 hp and the more powerful V8 4.2 liter engine offers 350 horsepower. In addition, the Tiptronic 6-speed automatic transmission (with overdrive) helps with smooth switching into manual, thus making the Audi Q7 a stunning performer in all road conditions. Handling during long distance driving is also smooth but the glaring drawback is the disappointing acceleration.

The 2009 Audi Q7 is a heavy vehicle, but exteriors are elegant. Glare protection rearview mirrors are an added feature. The 3 trims (the 3.6, the 3.6 Premium, and the 4.2 Prestige) can seat about 5 to 7 passengers, according to trim level. Rich leather adorns the power front seats and the tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and dual zone climate control is standard. The higher trims come with front seat heating and option of 4-zone automatic climate control. There is a third row of seats and extra cargo room because this SUV is a foot longer than other similar category SUVs. Standard audio system is the 8-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with 6-disc changer.

Customers can rest assured about safety, because the NHTSA Frontal Crash Test gives the 2009 Audi Q7 five on five for both front driver and passenger protection. Front, side and overhead airbags apart, the SUV has pretensioners, stability control, ABS, anti-whiplash restraints and a system for the detection of unwanted intrusion. The uni-body structuring and the resilient steel frame help the SUV to absorb impact effectively.

There are plenty of luxury features and options you could go for in the 2009 Audi Q7. Except for the lacking fuel economy, the car does well in all other aspects like performance, convenience, safety and style, making it a good buy but with slightly high pricing.
