2009 Audi S4 Photos Prices Review Specs

    October 25th, 2008 · No Comments · Audi

Audi justifies its smooth drive to fame yet again, with the superior performance oriented 2009 Audi S4. Style, technology and performance have always been hallmarks in all Audi models, but this time it’s even better. Exterior refreshment is seen in the 2009 Audi S4, as well as an engine redesign. The 2009 model has a V8 engine that improves the performance in most aspects. There are two trims available for 2009: the Cabriolet and Cabriolet with Tiptronic. The S4 sports convertible is like an altered version of the A4. With aggressive looks, comfort, convenience and super ride quality, the sports car looks good and feels great.

The 4.2 liter engine delivers a massive 340 hp. While the Cabriolet has a 6 speed manual transmission, the other trim is equipped with Tiptronic 6 speed automatic transmission (with overdrive) for easy and rapid fast shifts. The Tiptronic feature also permits manual gear selection. One observation is that the 2009 Audi S4 is considerably low in Carbon dioxide emissions. The all-wheel drive system has been maintained with Quattro, and this offers better traction and drive stability. The immense power generated by the V8 is pushed to the ground and balance is maintained. The high robust 18 inch alloy wheels are nimble.

Sports suspension and smooth acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds is an added delight in this nifty convertible. Braking (with electronic brake force distribution) and responsive handling get the nod. Unlike many other cars in this segment, the S4 turns corners with agility. Fuel economy ranges between 14/21 mpg city/hwy.

Car and Driver sums up the performance of the 2009 Audi S4 nicely: “It has the balance of an Olympic gymnast and the sure-footed all-weather agility of a snow leopard — wrapped in sheetmetal that differs very little from the everyday A4’s..”

Aluminum trims, symphony Audio system and Nappa leather sports seats are just a part of the nice interiors in this 2 door, 4-passenger convertible. Standard safety features qualify with top ratings in tough test drives, especially for side and front impact. The side bolsters keep the occupant firmly seated during high-speed driving. Ride quality is top class for a car in this category. Bluetooth connectivity hands free is now standard on the 2009 Audi S4.

The 2009 Audi S4 gives you every reason to shell out the MSRP of $57,125 to $58,325. When you get a top-class athletic car, you wouldn’t mind the pricing too much.
