Luxury is an understatement with regard to the 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Some might say tat the E-Class has required more quality improvements than other models from the same company, but performance debates apart, the vehicle surely has class. The premium midsize sedan has no major changes for 2009, and it offers 7 trims. These include the E350 4MATIC Sedan, E350 Luxury Sedan, E320 BlueTEC Sedan, E350 4MATIC Wagon, E550 Sport Sedan, E550 4MATIC Sedan, and finally, the E63 AMG Sedan.

In terms of engine specs, the E320 BlueTEC sedan has the smallest engine, a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel offering 210 HP. The other V6 trims have 3.5 L, 268 HP engines while the E550 trims have 5.5 l capacity V8 engines that offer 382 hp. The most powerful trim is the E63 AMG, with a 6.2 liter V8 engine delivering a monstrous 507 hp on the road. Ride quality is quite good mainly due to the responsive accelerator and the Airmatic Dual-Control Suspension. Fuel economy is just about acceptable in the 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class medium-sized sedan/wagon. Electronic brakes were the biggest compliant till date, but the 2009 model sets things right with conventional braking. The world’s 1st electronic brake system, the Sensotronic Brake Control is offered for 2009.

But let’s not take away the other plus points in this model. The car looks unique, with its well-sculpted body, chrome trim and distinct grille and headlights. The wedge-styling gives a cool sporty look to this car. Interiors are pleasant and bright, especially with the option of the huge panorama glass roof. Optional Drive Dynamic seats and keyless control are some other good features. The seats are designed with shift inflatable support to keep the occupants seated comfortably even while turning around tight corners. The occasional glitches seen over the years can be ignored temporarily, though one expects much better in the 2009 model.

A sneak peek takes you through the endless variety of options like Distronic Adaptive Cruise Control and more. Safety features in the 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class set a trend for other vehicles in this midsize luxury segment. Height-adjustable rear seat belts, airbags, roll-over sensing control, ABS, Brake assist and Electronic Stability Program assure the passengers of a safe drive. Interestingly, this premium model is quite competitively priced, with an MSRP of $53,200 to $87,700. Improved aerodynamics, sleek body and plush interiors, with a sack full of options make the 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class model a good buy.
