Nearly 2 decades of success and the Ford Ranger is still raring to go, year after year. As stated by Automobile, “Among compact pickups, it’s still the pick of the pack…” The 2009 Ford Ranger is essentially a carryover from 2008. It again wins hands down as one of the most fuel efficient and most affordable pickups ever. This best-seller from Ford is a terrific truck, with excellent features that will make you fall in love at first drive. This model has been America’s sweetheart not without reason. You get more than your money’s worth when you take home this pickup truck. At an MSRP tag of $15,835 to $25,235, you can see why this excellent vehicle is a steal deal.

After intensive analysis, the Ford Ranger has been ranked as the pickup with lowest ownership cost, by Edmunds. With 6000 pounds towing capacity, this pickup is excellent for those who haul cargo on a regular basis. ‘Built ford tough’, this pickup can move forward in any terrain and any weather. There are 4 different categories in this model: the XL, XLT, Sport version and the FX4 Off-Road. On the road, the 4 cylinder 2.3 liter engine generates some 143 hp while the bigger 4.0 Liter V6 engine generates 207 hp. Audio system is excellent with Sirius Satellite Radio. XLT vehicles have neat bumpers and a bold chrome H-Bar grille. A horizontal, black colored grille comes with the Sport model. The bright new fog lights help with visibility in the haziest conditions.

Other safety features include dual-stage front airbags and 4 wheel antilock brakes. On a scale of 5, the NHTSA Frontal Crash Test gives this pickup 5 for driver front, and 4 for passenger front injury protection.
