The fashionable looking Toyota Camry Solara beckons customers to try the 5 seating coupe or the smart 4 seater convertible trims. Top automobile reviewers have appreciated most Toyota models over the years, simply because of the unbeatable assurance of fine design, convenience, performance and reliability of Toyota. And the Toyota Camry Solara is no different. With sleek looks and some good stuff on the inside, the Solara steps up the standards for 2009. While performance has been a strong focus, the Toyota Camry Solara is also very user-friendly. Thankfully, this car does not have any of the clutter in terms of complicated features.
The three trim levels offered currently are the SE, Sport, and the SLE. The very useful and practical rear seat is a welcome feature in the Solara. Most standard features have been retained, and there are no major facelifts in 2009 for the stunning Solara. The convertibles have a standard V6 engine with 3.3 liter capacity delivering 210 hp for an easy sporty feel on the road. As for the coupe, a nice 157 hp four cylinder engine is standard on all trims, with a capacity of 2.4 liter. But the V6 engine is an option with the coupe. For regular commuting needs, this is quite convenient.
A five speed automatic transmission is standard on all the V6 trims, while the four cylinder trims come with a five speed manual transmission or a five speed automatic transmission.
The engines are hardly noisy and the Solara offers good fuel economy, owing to the excellent drag coefficient of 0.29. But the 2009 Solara doesn’t isolate the driver at all, offering a nice involvement during the drive. At times, squealing tires might be a little turn-off. Turning corners and moving on winding roads is no problem, but it could do with much better handling control.
Roomy interiors and extra rear seat room get the nod. Standard comfort features include powered windows, locks, mirrors and leather seats, along with sun roof, cruise control system, good audio system and air conditioning. An aerodynamic, arc-shaped body topped with a stylish roof adds to the fun factor. The sculpted body makes you long to get in and get driving.
Safety features are top class, and the 2009 Toyota Camry Solara sails through tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration scoring a perfect five on five. Tire pressure monitoring system, ABS anti lock disk brakes, and front seat side-impact airbags are standard. Get hold of the 2009 Solara if you want a fancy looking car for fun commuting.
