It's ok, you could to see all the '05 stuff. I wouldn't get pumped up about it, it's worth about an hour, and you'll be ready to split. If you haven't been before, some of the vendors are cool to check out. I've been the past 4 or 5 years in a row at the Dallas show, I'm in and out in an hour, it's something to do but it's really not that big of deal, I'd rather be out riding

Re: Cycle World Bike Show

The show was pretty good. There wasn't anything new that I hadn't seen before but was still fun to look around. I had the Arai rep check my helmet over. He adjusted the visor which now makes a much better seal and put in a new set of cheek pads. I noticed the difference on the ride home. I got a few pics but most turned out pretty fuzzy.

Added a few pictures to the Gallery - Dallas Cycle Show

Re: Cycle World Bike Show

We went Friday night to avoid the crowds. Spent a couple hours wandering around and eating....

Highlights:
Updated Triumph Speed Triple
Updated Triumph Sprint ST (much more on the "Sport" side now)
(lowlight was that you couldn't sit on either of the two above)
Repsol Rep CBR1K
GSXR 750
Rossi's M1 (or some mockup of it)
Mladin's 1K
Duhamels FX 600rr

Lowlights:
GSXR 1K (not a fan of the jigsaw puzzle body work or the narrowed intakes)
F4i (way too soft looking and the dark cherry/silver scheme made me want to yak)
Kwak 636 with exhaust can welds that looked straight out of a 7th grade shop class
The number of stunta crewz willing to rent a booth to show thier warez seems to be multiplying :-(

Re: Cycle World Bike Show

Went to the NEC show in Birmingham week or so back. Highlight for me was the Speed Trumpet. Getting more and more drawn towards naked bikes. Had a good look at the Buells and the Yamaha Bulldog and MT-01. Buell appeals very much but the detailing and finishing just looks so cheap, those crappy palstic name badges on the tank, the dull looking paintwork.

The Stripple has it all though. Brilliant looking, decent suspension, grunty 1050cc motor, reasonable weight (~185kg?). Got to sit on it too, felt just right. Very tempting.

Actually I lie. Highlight was the CB1300RR Suzuka 8 Hour racer. Take a CB1300, bolt a full superbike front end on it, race seat unit and fairing, mod the motor, beef up the chassis and you get yourself the most talked about bike in the show. Rumours of a street replica coming out next year.

Uggggh, yes. Couldn't believe that THAT was the bike they chose to represent their magazine....not that it was ever worth a **** anyway. Just another reason for me to not subscribe.

The triple caught my eye also. We couldn't sit on it as they had it in a cage. This is the only pic I got, which isn't very good because of said cage.

That 1300 looks pretty interesting. I must be getting old, the less racy ergos are looking better everyday.
