Clock reset every time key off

Installed non melted speedo assy on rr3 and everything working except have blinking clock after every key off. Faulty unit or ? The newer unit had under 1000km on it, maybe a warranty takeoff?

Re: Clock reset every time key off

Just prior to swapping out speedo assemblies, was the old one doing the same thing? If so, I would suspect a battery that is on its way out (clocks reset frequently when a battery is bad btw).

If the battery is good/fresh, then it's probably something amiss with the new speedo cluster that you purchased (able to get a refund on it by chance?).

Old cluster worked great, just unsightly melt mark on it. Did have dead battery just prior to noticing this behaviour. I’ll give it a while.

If it loses the 12v from the battery, the clock will reset. Could be a loose connection or a short in the cluster maybe. Find where the cluster gets its constant 12vdc for the clock.
