Turned key off on a few times light came on, tried starting her, with out a sound boom no power again...after that about five more time lights came on same end game, no power at all, no noises no nothing....dead! Changed battery on side of Ed, still no power. Took battery out, hooked up jumper cables to wires still nadda....thinking ignition switch?????? Please help first bile. She's a 1999 Honda shadow a.c.e. 1100 with 17,000 miles well maintained I did push her with little oil filled her two days before this all happened....noticed backfiring about two days ago as well....reason why I added oil...don't wanna take it to Honda yet. Thinking I'll buy the parts first and see if I can do it....or at least have some sense of what I'm talking about when or if I bring it to Honda...but I hope my buddy can do it as he teaches me what to do......thank you guys....need to know ASAP

Does your start button still work? Hear click from starter silinoid? If turns over tested for spark? You check all fuses and main fuses.

Err.. and post a intro before just telling your problems. No hi hello or anything. And expect all this help and info. :/
Go post an intro and ill be more happy to help assist you if I can

I'm with 900rr on this one. It is all well and good that you recognize this site as having good people that are willing to help, but those people are not here purely to aid people in an emergency situation. This is more of an online community of friends and acquaintances that help each-other out and shoot the shite daily. Barging in and demanding attention without the courtesy of an introduction often does not sit well with the members that have been a part of this site for years.

Pop over to the introduction section, post one up (and maybe some picks of your shadow!!) then come back here and list out everything that you have checked so far. I'm sure 900rr and I can help you out from there!

It's very difficult to follow what it is you're saying.
First up, how much oil did you add?
Under what conditions are you getting the backfiring - closed throttle, acceleration, what RPM?
I'd probably check the ignition switch if cycling it eventually gets the dash to light up. Pull the electrical base off and check that everything is clean and tight in there.

Re: Please help bike has zero power. ASAP NEED BIKE FOR DAILY USAGE,!!!!

Take the seat off, then the tank so you can get to the connectors for your wiring and check your wiring I'd put money your main connector has looses wiring it fried. Check the post in the 600 section. And get an multimeter and check the voltages on the wires.. Its all in the post... Then once you sort you wiring out.. New rec/reg time.. Cause your rpm will be shagged and then you need to look at my post about Rec/reg experience... Hopefully by then someone will have checked out what the new tech is like, Not that this happened to me at all... :-/
That said I might be talking out my arse.. But sounds very familiar to my issue.
Don't forget your bike porn on the intro lol

...if its still not working hit it again, just use a bigger hammer!
