Engine swap

Hi guys, has anyone on here swapped a 2012 motor into a 2009 cbr1000rr? We’re there any difficulties?
Thanks.

Re: Engine swap

Unless someone has actually done this, you might not get a definitive answer.

You're probably aware the 2012 was a revision of the 2008 to 2011 bikes. From what I'm aware the frame and engine are/were unchanged. Most 2012 differences were in electronics, fairings, wheels, rear shock. I am confident the changeover would be simple.

I wonder if you have contact with any of the Melbourne track riders. Always a great source of info!!

Thanks Nigel. That’s why I specifically asked whether anyone has done it, rather than just whether they think it can be done.
