Police imitators

These people make me see red. I think we all know why they do it, and it ain't to do with being visible. So I was hugely amused to read this:
https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/...t-ruined-life/

What a twat. He prob would have been ok if he hadn't marched into the cop station to complain.
Personally, I assume that NO cager will ever see me, and I try always to ride with that, and possible collision evasion options, in mind.
So I don't wear the universal yellow, even though I'm a Rossi fan.

Totally agree. And what an embarrassment to the majority of the motorcycling community. Plastic, pretentious, and loser wanna be come to mind.

Not sure if our overseas friends have or see these vests, or, heaven forbid, even wear one , but if so, just to protect your own public perception, I'd urge you to bin it!!

Re: Police imitators

i read the article before reading your post, i must say my immediate thoughts mirror yours.

you know the difference between a porcupine and a bmw? a porcupine has it's pricks on the outside.

anywho, here on the right side of the pond, our cops ride harleys and wear leather pants and use half helmets.

i'm not a fan of the hi-viz colors as they tend to be harder to see in the sun. i wear a lot of red because, obviously it's faster and also because we're innately conditioned to notice red. it's bother the color of threat and passion so our brains pick up on it readily. and it looks cooler than bright yellow (also it's faster).

Agree.

I can comment specifically upon the added performance - rated in inches per minute - of my favourite 'red' condoms.

I saw one of these bellends yesterday on the way to work with his hiviz police lookalikee vest on. I always think that if you really are that risk averse perhaps you should just stick to driving a car.

If it was just risk aversion I could forgive them. But I suspect it has for a large part to do with attention seeking and ego-tripping . And I always seem to see them when I am in a hurry, gives me a heartattack first, then rage when I realise it's not a cop. My problem of course, just needed to ventilate....

Re: Police imitators

Even worse is when they ride an old white Honda Pan European with hiviz stickers on it.
