Open motor - repairs

So, some might know that we have a problem with hubbies 2nd gear. It has gone to the bike shop and we might be looking at replacing the gearbox with a good second hand one. unfortunately we cannot spend money on a new one. so now the next question, is the gearbox of the 929 the same as the 954?

We also apparently have to look at the throttle body, not sure why but will check later when we pop around at the shop again, and then we are going to replace the clutch basket. We are also going to look at the general condition of the motor, bearings, big ends etc.

Any other advice

Hi Eileen.

One of the best authorities on motorcycle specs is the MCS site:

I have linked to the 954 where you will note that it states that 'Transmission specification remains unchanged. . . ' [from 929].
