Anyone have "Bike Time" at work ???

Since a storm is rolling in as we speak I have a good excuse to bring my bike in the shop at work and do some maintenance including severe cleaning and degreasing all while on the clock, i guess it helps being head of night shift maintenance.... anyone else have this luxury at work ??? its so nice sitting at my desk in the shop with my bike right by my side...

If my office was somewhere else (read: more accessible), I probably would bring it in for Chain-grade cleansing. As it is I charge my clients for transit time, which I almost always spend riding rather than driving to/from location

I like to ride mine around the computer room when I'm not too busy Actuall the most bike time I get at the office is while I'm here, either reading or in that danm arcade!

I'm not even supposed to be here. I'm just "Crewman Number Six." I'm expendable! I'm the guy in the episode who dies to prove how serious the situation is! I've gotta get outta here!

Re: Anyone have "Bike Time" at work ???

My office is the entrance to my bike shop, so whenever I need to stretch, I walk out and fuss with the bikes for awhile. Since I don't get a paycheck, it's hard to tell whether or not I get docked for working on the bikes.

Re: Anyone have "Bike Time" at work ???

I rolled my bike into our electronics applications lab here at work when I built a new wiring harness combining the bike ECU and data aquisition stuff. For the hell of it, I pointed a FLIR infrared camera at it and took a pic. If you look closely, you can see all kinds of stuff in the background, the zip tie on the forks etc etc.

It's weird how there are a couple warm spots on the can...you'd think it would conduct the heat better so that it was more uniformly spread out.

That's just the change in emissivity and possibly an IR reflection from the light.

You can see your reflection in a computer monitor with it, that's pretty trippy...looks like a ghost.

You really don't want to know how much free time I have at work. Some days I have more than others but I have done complete detail jobs on my bike and truck while at work. We used to have a guy here that would do a tear down and rebuild on his car here while getting paid. Watching movies, naps, you name it. It's the best job in the world. We do get everything done job related before the playtime starts.
