Cut slicks?

Has anyone here ever put cut slicks on their road bike? What kind of mileage do you get out of them? What is the grip like? What compounds have you used? I know this is illegal to do, Im just curious, for now

Poking the Devil with a stick then running away

Re: Cut slicks?

To be honest I have no idea, but would think thay would not last all that long, and possibly puncture easily compared to a street tyre

Do unto others, before some prick does it to you!

Not a good Idea for the street I don't think you would even get them up to operating temp 160f. Also the mileage would be very low for a set of $360 USD tires it would not be worth it. If it rains you are in trouble. Grip? no groves allows the full surface area for maxim grip. A set of Dunlop 208gp are just like a set of cut slicks. Illegal well they are not DOT regulated. Would I ever ride a set of slicks on the street no way in hell.

Don't drive a hearse in the carpool lane.

I had a set of 208GP's on my 929 and they made great road tyres.
