Exhaust Heat Shield

ANybody know of a good exhaust heat shield? My exhaust comes so close to the foot peg that I melted my boot... The one that came with the Hindle just isn't big enough. Whenever hanging off the side, my heel would touch the exhaust. I ended up riding with the foot peg under the arch of my foot which totally screwed up my right hand turns... Sugggestions?

Re: Exhaust Heat Shield

I'm thinking I might have to get a regular mount mid-pipe as this was driving me nuts... Doesn't bother me riding on the street but bugged the **** out of me on the track and really screwed up my form...

If its more then just a once in a while type thing I would sell that pipe and get the mid mount. Nothing like riding hard and having something irritate the hell out of you

Re: Exhaust Heat Shield

Trade it in on an '05 636. You'll get the exhaust under the seat and a slipper clutch to boot! Hey; if Chain and Conq can do it........

Yeah, that is what I am checking on now, to see if the slip on mid pipes are the same as the full system mid pipes. If they are, then it should only be 50-75 bucks for a new one...

It does bug the hell out of me...

I love the fireblades sticker on the Kawi

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: Exhaust Heat Shield

**** it, I finally ordered the elbow... should be here to install this weekend. This pipe is just too close to the footpegs... I can't get comfortable on it.

Re: Exhaust Heat Shield

There were things you could've tried, but at $68 I think you made the right move.

Endurance racers out there really need to think about this.
