Anyone have one of those guys in their area that has ALL the nice stuff? There is a guy here in town that at all times has three or four bikes. Last year he had an 03 954, TLR, 02 Gixxer1k and a ZX-10R. All of them had just about everything done to them as well. He sold his TLR to his brother, sold the Gixxer to another guy and just two weeks ago sold his 954. After he got rid of his TLR and Gixxer he went and got an 06 Gixxer1k and within a week modded the crap out of it. Two days ago he went and bought an 06 R1 in yellow. So now this prick has an 06 Gixxer 1k, 06 R1, and an 05 ZX-10R. Man I hate people with money.

He might have stuff, but does he have money? It's quite easy to charge all that stuff to your credit card and make minimum payments on it.

I'm sure that's exactly how it is. We ask him all the time when he's gonna come to the track and he says the same thing everytime. "I don't have any money for that!" Ok dipshit, instead of buying another bike on your damn card buy a few sets of tires, some race glass, leathers, and get your dumbarse to the track. To which he always replies, "Eh, I don't know, I don't want to wreck my bike." So we attempted to be reasonable with him and tell him to get a trackbike, nothing expensive just a 600 or something. That was a pointless conversation to say the least.

We've got some guys on this board who have enviable collections, but better them than some investor who doesn't ride, or a poser that can't.

Sad to say but this guy is all about posing. It's very sad to see.

I'll admit I do have a couple tasty "bits of kit" in the garage, but I do try to get out and flog them as much as possible. Last year was a short amount of riding for ANY bike with building a new house. BUT - I don't own three or four current bikes, all of mine are older with the exception of the '04 1000RR. And I probably won't swap that one out for a while, either, it just WORKS for me for a trackbike. Also, I have no problem sharing seat time with other people who I know can ride. I swapped bikes with people several times the last couple times I've been down to the gap. I do appreciate the collectors who preserve a 0 mile original, but once it's out of the box and been ridden, ride the damn thing. Also, I'm not making any excuses for owning more than one interesting bike. I've been riding for 20 years now, and pretty much ALL of my "disposable income" goes toward gearhead pursuits. Single, no kids, and an understanding girlfriend who also rides, and makes more than I do has something to do with that also.

Around here it's not the guys with bikes, it's the guys who have the nice cars AND boats...
