Say Good-bye to Avon for 16" tire choices

I ride a 97 CBR900RR, that still has the 16" front wheel. This past June, I purchased a set of Avon Azaro AV45/46-ST tires, because of the tread life.

These are some pretty decent tires for sport riding, even leaning hard into the corners.

Unfortunately for me, Avon is discontinuing the Azaro line and replacing them with the Storm-ST line. The really bad news is that the Storm-ST lines doesn't offer a 16" front tire choice.

Here's the specs:

Looks like a 17" front wheel conversion might be in my future.

Only problem is that the best tire choices don't include the 16" front.

I have the same issues with tires for the RC45. I currently have a set of worn out Sportec M1 on the bike now, but I think I'm going to swap those for the Sportec M3. You can still get the following tires in a 130/60-17 front:

Metzeler Sportec M1
Metzeler Sportec M3
Pirelli Diablo
Bridgestone BT014

I went to the 17" front......among one of the reasons was so I could run Pilot Powers.
