Ain't that sme $h!znit

Alright so I find this '01 929RR for $3500, I've seen the pics they've posted and the bike looks really clean minus the normal road tear(sp?) i.e. minor knicks and scratches from rocks and bugs....I drive almost 2 hours to go take a look at this bike and when I get out there, looking it over there again it looks clean but (now's where it starts getting interesting) the bike won't start, dead battery....so after a lil bit of time I make up my mind that if something minor is wrong with it thats fine and I won't complain. This guy takes a $100 off the price so I pay $3400 and the nice thing about it is he tells me that if I'm unsatisfied for any reason to bring it back and he'll give me money back!!!!Hell I'll take my chances since he told me that.......

Get the bike home and get it running the next afternoon and take it for a test ride to make sure everythings good...I find rust in the gas tank but not that major I can fix that pretty easily (buy a new tank)....get out n the streets in the neighborhood and the valves are knocking like a mofo......and I find out that forks are bent......so I call the guy back up and tell him what my issues are and the only thing he can say is that it wasn't like that last year, do an oil change to it and that should take care of the valves knocking. WTF!!!!!! do you even know what your talking about???

Anyways I was lucky to get my money back outta the whole thing and he's got that bike back...Granted I am thankful that the guy was nice and understanding about the situation....but I learned a lesson on my part and hopefull someone else learns from my mistake
Don't buy it if you can't ride it and make sure everything is in good working order and there's no kind of safety issues..........(of course I'm talking about used bikes, not new bikes from a dealership that are brand new)

Alright I'm done ranting
That is all

no kidding. You got lucky on that one. But with bent forks and who knows what all else, I would have taken it back too.

Re: Ain't that sme $h!znit

yeah I was lucky with the guarantee, he didn't want to honor it at first but he did....he kept telling me that the bike had been taken out on the track last year and ridden on the road, it had no plates, and I can guarantee that it wasn't ridden on the trck with the forks the way they were he woulda wrecked it on the first curve

I would have been worried about the battery to start - He should have made sure it would at least start!

trust me so am I......I just found out last night that they sold the bike again and they never had it looked at, never put a battery in it so the guy who bought it could hear it start and test drive it, nothing......I HATE people like that, I hope the guy who bought it doesn't hurt himself cause there's something serious wrong with that bike
