Motorcycle Expo review in Novi Michigan:

I was able to go to the expo this weekend and sit on all the new bikes. A few highlights were to be able to see, and run my hands over some of the Moto GP / AMA race bikes. The new Ducati 1198 S was really nice as well. I would really like to add that one to the garage sometime in the future. Surprisingly I was disappointed in the new R1. It seemed closer in size to the zx-14 rather than the other 3 liter bikes. Very big and heavy feeling. The new V-max was neat. Felt like sitting on a workbench with no front faring. I'd like to take it for a spin someday. There was a few neat custom stuff as well such as some Roland Sands bikes, and some tricked out Hyabussa's.

Really? How come? It was bigger than I expected really. I think it could have done without the Harley crowd. Of course they probably thought the same. I wish there were more clothing/gear, and accessory vendors. That was really my only complaint. It wasn't too crowded either.

Re: Motorcycle Expo review in Novi Michigan:

You mentioned one of the complaints; not many vendors. No dealers were there with the exception of a few. 2-years ago I went to the one in Houston and it was four times larger than this one and many more people attended.

Re: Motorcycle Expo review in Novi Michigan:

I agree...the show was a disappointment. I paid a $13 admission to sit on bikes that I could go to the dealerships to sit on for free. Not to mention the "sham-wow" demonstration that about 200 people were watching and the flee market in the back. What a joke....never again.
