Hi everyone, we bought a brand new cam chain tensioner and we are still hearing the chain sound. Then we tried with a manual tensioner and still head the noise. Anyone have any suggestions on what could remedy this noise the timing chain is making.
Depending upon the age and mileage of the bike, the chain itself (just like the drive chain) might have stretched beyond adjustment. This would mean installing a new chain.
One other point is that it might not be the chain at all. Have you considered that it might be clutch noise? That would make sense as the noise has stayed the same, and it can be difficult to perfectly pinpoint the source of the rattle in the motor.
