New, ol' bike owner

I just picked up a '92 CBR 600 F2. I know it needs some work especially the cosmetics. (I'll have to resize my pics) I picked it up for $750 with just over 25k on the clock. It was dropped on its left side which cracked the alternator cover and broke the shaft mounted piece for the shift lever, easy fixes in my book. There is some rattle when the bike is first started and diminishes to a light rattle after it has warmed up and dissappears when you crack the throttle, telling me that the valvetrain needs to be adjusted possibly. It is easy to start and idles fine.
The only kicker for me is I was told that it has a tendancy to pop out of second gear, based on my experience with cars this can mean a couple of things; worn/broken gear, broken shift fork.
Anyway I will be able to fix the bike during the cold months, purchase some gear and get my certification through an MSF course.

See you on the road!

Welcome back to the exciting world of 2-Wheel Therapy.

Sounds like some fairly straightforward issues for you to deal with. Have fun.
