HELP!!! 600 bogs down

Hi, Im a new bike rider/owner and i have an 87 honda hurricane 600 that ive been learning how to ride on and build up, the bike starts and idles fine when in neutral it revs fine but when i go to ride it beween 1000 and about 4,500 rpms it climbs slowly then all of a sudden it speeds up i took off the tank and sprayed some carb cleaner and replaced the plugs and oil and it still happens please some one help me i would really like to get this fixed

from 1000-4000 rpms is a dead spot on a lot of bikes. Most bikes dont make any real useable power until ~4000 rpms anyway. I would maybe check your plug wires and if everything looks good there I would just say its normal. If you gear it lower you can probably find more low end power.

thanks for the advice the wires look good and i put some dielectric grease on the boots but i still have the issue its just not a smooth climb its extremely rough one and for those who know of Honda motors its like v-tech kicks in and i tried the setting it in to lower gears but it does this through out the powerband

Remove the carbs, dismantle and clean them. Don't just spray cleaner into the bodies
